Elden R. Huddleston, 85, Oblong, Illinois passed away at 10:22 a.m. Eastern Time, Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Vincennes, Indiana. Born in Yale, Illinois on May 28, 1927, he was the son of Elmer Huddleston and Ida (Bailey) Huddleston. Elden served in the U. S. Army during W. W. II. He was a welder for Summerville Oil Company and later owned and operated Newton Body Shop, Newton, Illinois for 40+ years. He was a member of the Newton V. F. W. Post #7537 and Newton Masonic Lodge #216. He worked on cars all his life and enjoyed boating on the river ways in the area.
On September 15, 1948, he married Margaret M. Abraham, who preceded him in death on October 23, 2010. Also preceding him in death were his parents and one infant daughter, Tina Maria.
Elden is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Marla Snow & George Dudak and Jean & David Doran; four granddaughters, Gabrielle & Mariah Steevens and Lisa & Alexis Snow; five step-grandchildren, Travis & Sasha Snow Bryce Doran, Miranda Doran and John Snow; two step-great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Heckler and Zack Snow; several nieces and nephews and care giver, Warren Snow.
Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery, Yale, Illinois.
